MOSCOW, February 3 The ability to share the screen during a video call, launched by WhatsApp last summer, helps scammers collect personal data of citizens, the team leader said in an interview with the Prime agency development of the Gem Space superapp Vahe Zakarian.
In his opinion, showing the screen to a stranger during a conversation is the same as calling him home, because we have all the important information on our smartphone, including those related to finances.
““Having access to the screen, a fraudster can find out a lot about the user: what banking applications he uses, what stores he orders goods from, what social networks he is registered in,” explained the specialist.
Knowing all this, scammers will be able use social engineering methods or simply hack user accounts, he added.
