A drone fell on the territory of an oil refinery in Volgograd and a fire started. This was announced by the Governor of the Volgograd Region Andrey Bocharov.
“As a result of the fall of a downed UAV, a fire broke out at the Volgograd Oil Refinery. Fire and rescue forces quickly got to work — the fire was promptly localized, the open burning was eliminated. There are no casualties,” Bocharov said.
According to the governor, two drones were shot down in the region at night — in the Kalachaevsky district and the Transkanal region in Volgograd.
The fire at the Volgograd LUKOIL-Volgogradneftepererabotka, the largest producer of petroleum products in the Southern Federal District, was reported early in the morning by the telegram channel 112.
V1.RU sources in the emergency services also spoke about the fire at the enterprise after the drone attack. The publication's interlocutors claim that the plant received “serious damage.”
The regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations confirmed that at a plant in the Krasnoarmeysky district of Volgograd there was a “fire of an oil product bottling on an area of 300 square meters.” According to the department, the open fire was eliminated by 6:30.
The Ministry of Defense reported that on the night of February 3, air defense systems “intercepted and destroyed” four Ukrainian drones over the Belgorod region, two drones in the Volgograd region and another in Rostovskaya.
