MOSCOW, February 2 The Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation recognized Irina Sviridova, nominated The Democratic Party of Russia, which has lost the status of a candidate for the post of President of the Russian Federation.
“Recognize Irina Vladimirovna Sviridova as having lost the status of a candidate for the post of President of the Russian Federation,” the resolution says. Earlier, the chairman of the Democratic Party of Russia, Alexander Zorin, said that Sviridova was unable to collect the required number of signatures in her support; the party decided to support Vladimir Putin in the elections in March.
The Federation Council scheduled presidential elections for March 17, 2024. Voting will last three days: March 15, 16 and 17. The Central Election Commission must make a decision on registration or refusal of registration for all candidates no later than February 10.
