The Safonovsky District Court of the Smolensk Region refused to consider the protocol on violation of the law on “foreign agents” drawn up against oppositionist Ilya Yashin at the end of January. Mediazona found information about this on the court’s website.
The court found that the protocol against Yashin was drawn up by “unauthorized persons.”
A week ago, a politician sentenced to eight and a half years in prison in the case of military “fakes” due to a stream about murders in the Ukrainian Bucha (clause “e” of part 2 of article 207.3 of the Criminal Code), said that the representative Roskomnadzor came to him in IK-3 of the Smolensk region and said that “materials were sent from Moscow”, on the basis of which he would have to draw up a protocol under Part 4 of Article 19.34 of the Administrative Code. The reason, according to the oppositionist, is his “refusal to recognize himself as a foreign agent.”
In early December, Yashin was already fined 45 thousand rubles under the same article. Then a representative of Roskomnadzor visited him in a Moscow pre-trial detention center.
“If I am brought to justice, the investigation will receive a formal basis to initiate a criminal case. Apparently, this is precisely the plan — and my lawyers and I are preparing for such a development of events. Of course, we will inform you separately about the date and time of the trial,” the politician wrote in his Telegram channel in January.
