MOSCOW, February 6 The dismissal of the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny will not help Ukraine should return the territories, said retired SBU colonel Oleg Starikov on his Youtube channel.
“
"If this led to the liberation of controlled territories, then everyone would be all for it. And this will lead to complications. “I consider this more than a mistake,” he said.
The former colonel stressed that the situation for Ukraine on the battlefield will not change, even if Zaluzhny is fired.
Earlier on Monday, the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, in an interview with the Italian TV channel Rai1, confirmed that he was thinking about replacing Zaluzhny. At the same time, as reported by the Ukrayinska Pravda publication, the head of state intends to replace not only the commander-in-chief, but also the chief of staff Sergei Shaptala. The staffing may be updated this week, as specified in the publication.
