Renault introduced the compact Twingo back in 1992, while the “tiny” first generation was very popular: then annual sales of the model in Europe exceeded 200 thousand units, but later demand gradually began to decline. The third generation Twingo was introduced in 2014, the model was the result of a partnership between Renault and Daimler and its smart brand. Previously, it was assumed that the car would be retired after the life cycle of the current version ended, but the manufacturer decided to continue the history of the small hatchback.

The company came to the conclusion that it was worth preserving both the recognizable name and the very idea of having a cheap small city car in the line. The future new product was declassified in concept status in mid-November last year. There is no official information yet about what the production version of the compact hatchback will look like.
The designer of the Spanish publication Motor.es shared with us his vision of what the fourth generation Renault Twingo will look like. Judging by the image, the production version of the model will likely differ little from last year's concept. It is expected that the exterior of the new product will be decorated in a retro style, which means there will be many references to the very first model shown in the early 90s.
Judging by the render, the new Twingo will have a five-door single-volume body, the front part will be decorated with semicircular headlights with LED strips of running lights, illuminated actual brand logo, large air intake made of unpainted plastic, integrated into the lower part of the bumper. The artist did not forget the element that references the first Twingo in the form of three “windows” made of glossy black plastic, located closer to the rear edge of the hood.
Also, the car in the rendering was left with unusual front door handles inscribed in a circle; The rear door handles are probably integrated into the C-pillars. Another inexpensive hatchback can get a side window frame made of unpainted plastic, small traditional exterior mirrors and glossy black wheel arch trims. It can be assumed that the stern will also be designed in the style of the concept — with semicircular lights and massive plastic inserts.

It is assumed that the length of the new Renault Twingo will not exceed 3.6 meters, a step higher in the brand hierarchy there will be a “big brother” – Renault 5. The hatchback’s interior will be designed for five passengers; a virtual instrument panel and a touchscreen for the infotainment system will be placed on the front panel.
There is no official information about the technology yet. So far, the company has only said that the fourth-generation all-electric Twingo will have a consumption of 10 kWh per 100 km. According to preliminary data, the version with a 110-horsepower electric motor will be the first to hit the market, and later a version with a 90-horsepower engine will appear. It is expected that they will be offered only one battery – with a capacity of 40 kWh; The city car's maximum range on a single charge will probably be about 300 km.
The new Twingo is scheduled to enter the market in 2026. Presumably the starting price of a small hatchback will not exceed 20,000 euros.
