A foreign citizen was detained in St. Petersburg after an attack on a woman
St. Petersburg police detained a foreign citizen who attacked a woman, caused bodily harm and tried to rape her.
As REN TV reports, the attack occurred late the night before on Academician Lebedev Street. The victim was able to fight off the criminal and run to the Lenin Square metro station, where she asked for help. From the metro, the woman was hospitalized with a concussion and bruises; after assistance was provided, the patient was released home.
The suspect was soon detained — he turned out to be a 33-year-old foreign citizen. A criminal case has been opened for attempted rape, and the detainee has been placed in a temporary detention facility.
