MOSCOW, February 12 The new commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky is known in in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as a military commander who does not take into account the losses of his army, another “meat grinder” organized by him cannot be ruled out, as was the case in Artemovsk, said the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin on the TV channel “Russia 24”.
«What this kind of reshuffle will not affect is the quality and dedication of the military personnel who carry out the tasks assigned by our president. What will they affect? Here we can go into discussion, but, from my point of view, this may affect some internal political issues.» then moments in the rest of Ukraine,” Pushilin said in response to a question about how changes in the leadership of the Ukrainian army could affect the situation at the front.
In addition, he noted, a change in the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine could affect the number of losses in the ranks of the Ukrainian army.
“Because this comrade is widely known, including among Ukrainian military personnel, as “General-200”, with whom a large number of victims in the Artemovsk direction are also associated. He was frantic with some kind of desire to ignore the victims, the losses, it can characterize some new «meat grinders», which will again be organized by him. Why is he doing this? It's hard to say. Maybe he is oppressed by his Russian origin, he studied in Russia. For him, perhaps, it is very difficult to perceive that he is doing now. His motives are difficult to understand,» Pushilin noted.
As for the Avdeevsky direction, he added, the Russian military is doing everything possible to push back the enemy and drive him out of the fortified areas created there.
Zelensky on February 8 announced the appointment of Alexander Syrsky as commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine instead of Zaluzhny. Before this, Syrsky commanded the ground forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. A number of Ukrainian and Western media outlets wrote about a possible conflict between Zelensky and Zaluzhny back in the fall of 2023. Washington Post journalists noted that Zaluzhny, who is popular among his fellow citizens, could pose a threat to Zelensky if he decides to start a political career. The Russian Foreign Ministry called the protracted situation with rumors surrounding Zaluzhny’s resignation the agony of the Ukrainian authorities. Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova expressed the opinion that this is a reflection of the complete collapse of the Ukrainian government and the final collapse of Ukrainian statehood.
