MOSCOW, February 8. Vladimir Putin presented state awards and prizes to young scientists in the field of science and innovation for 2023 in the Kremlin.
The Order of Merit for the Fatherland, 1st degree, was received by academicians of the Russian Academy of Sciences Leila Adamyan, Valery Kozlov, Gennady Mesyats. Academician Yuri Osipov was awarded the title of Hero of Labor.
In turn, the winners of the prize for young scientists were specialists in three fields – mathematical modeling, pest control and the search for strategically important metals .
Professor of the Nizhny Novgorod State University named after Lobachevsky Susanna Gordleyeva received the Presidential Prize “for the development of models and technologies of neuromorphic artificial intelligence based on biophysical neuron-astrocytic network models for memristive electronics.” The results of her research are important for preventing the development of neurodegenerative diseases and maintaining healthy longevity.
Senior researcher at the Laboratory of Environmental Physiology at the Institute of Animal Systematics and Ecology of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Sergei Pavlushin, received a prize for the discovery of new mechanisms for regulating outbreaks of mass reproduction of insects – pests of agriculture and forestry.
Assistant professor of the Department of Geochemistry of St. Petersburg State University Olga Yakubovich was awarded for the development of the isotope geochemical method as an effective tool for searching for deposits of strategically important metals – gold and platinum.
President Prize in the field of science and innovation for Young Scientists has been awarded since 2008 to young scientists and specialists for their significant contribution to the development of domestic science, the development of samples of new equipment and technologies that ensure innovative development of the economy and social sphere, as well as strengthening the country’s defense capability. The size of each award from 2019 is five million rubles.
