The IMF on Monday began discussions with the Ukrainian authorities on the difficulties and challenges facing the country's economy, the fund said in a statement.
«The IMF team, led by Deputy Director of the Fund's European Department Uma Ramakrishnan, began today in Kyiv meetings with Ukrainian authorities and other interested parties,» the foundation said in a statement.
In January, IMF Communications Director Julie Kozak said in response to a question that Ukraine's donors need to fulfill their commitments to provide financial support to the country, since Kiev is heavily dependent on foreign aid to maintain economic stability.
Kozak added that in 2024 Ukraine will require significant financing, estimated at $42 billion, “including official donor support of $32 billion.”
The IMF begins its third review of Ukraine’s financing program as part of its four-year lending program at 15.6 on February 17 billion dollars, the fund said.
“On February 17, an IMF mission led by Gavin Gray will begin policy discussions with Ukrainian authorities in Warsaw regarding the third review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF),” the fund said in a statement.< br>In March 2023, the IMF executive board approved a four-year financing package for Ukraine worth $15.6 billion.
