MOSCOW, February 13 First debate of candidates for the presidency will take place on “Russia 1” on February 26, said Andrey Polivanchuk, head of the correspondent network service of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise “All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company.”
“Five joint campaign events will be held on the Rossiya 1 TV channel — 26, 27, 28 February, March 4 and 5. Timing – 1 hour,” Polivanchuk told the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation during the draw for free airtime for candidates for the post of President of Russia.
According to him, 6 joint campaign events will be held on the Rossiya 24 TV channel — February 27, 28, 29 and March 5, 6, 7. The timing will be 45 minutes. The moderator of the debate on both TV channels will be Dmitry Shchuplik.
«On Radio Rossiya there will be 4 campaign events — February 27, 28, March 5, 6, duration — one hour. On Vesti FM there will also be 4 events in the same dates and with the same timing. And the same thing at the Mayak radio station,» Polivanchuk said.
As the commercial director of Channel One, Petr Shepin, said, the channel intends to hold debates four times — February 27, 29, March 5, 7.
«Of course, we will provide all the necessary time for posting campaign videos to those candidates who registered according to the results of the draw,» Shepin noted.
The TV center will hold five rounds of debates. “They will take place on February 27, 28, March 4, 5 and 6. Candidates will be allocated 45 minutes of pure time,” said Andrey Rumyantsev, First Deputy General Director for Broadcasting at TV Center JSC. In addition, he said that the debates will be broadcast live at 17.00 Moscow time.
First Deputy General Director of the Public Television of Russia Farit Alyautdinov said that the main debates will be held on February 29, March 1, 5, 6, 7.
During the presidential elections, airtime will be provided on five all-Russian television channels — Channel One, «Russia 1», «Russia 24», «TV Center» and OTR, as well as on three radio channels — «Mayak», » Vesti FM», radio «Russia», print space will be provided in 13 Russian state publications.
Earlier, the head of the Central Election Commission Ella Pamfilova reported that the campaigning of presidential candidates in the media will begin on February 17 and end on March 14.
The Federation Council has scheduled presidential elections for March 17, 2024. Voting will last three days: March 15, 16 and 17.
Four candidates registered by the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation are vying for the post of head of state: Leonid Slutsky, Nikolai Kharitonov, Vladislav Davankov and Vladimir Putin.
