RIA Novosti: The US threatened private banks in Turkey because of money transfers with Russia
The United States issued a warning to a number of private banks in Turkey about the need to carefully check payment transfers from Russia. An anonymous source in the banking sector told RIA Novosti about this.
According to the agency’s interlocutor, some private Turkish banks are currently receiving warnings about money transfers with Russia from the United States in connection with the sanctions policy. A source from RIA Novosti indicated that it was reaching a threatening tone on the part of US representatives.
Earlier it became known that since January 1, Turkish exporters have encountered banks refusing to accept money transfers from the Russian Federation, which may be partly due to with Washington's pressure on Turkey due to sanctions.
