< br />MOSCOW, February 18The body of a man with signs of violent death was found in a hostel in the capital's Nagatinsky Zaton district, the suspect was detained, a pre-investigation check was organized, the press services of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee and the Moscow prosecutor's office reported.
According to the GUMVD, on February 17, in a hostel on Andropov Avenue, “the body of a man with signs of violent death was discovered.” The prosecutor's office added that the defendant was drunk when «during the conflict, he inflicted multiple punches and kicks to the head and torso of his acquaintance, born in 1971.» The victim died on the spot from his injuries.
«At the scene of the incident, police officers detained a 36-year-old suspect,» the department said.
The Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee noted that “a pre-investigation check has been organized” regarding this fact. Investigators and forensic experts are working on the scene.
«Verification activities are being carried out aimed at establishing a full picture of what happened. The issue of initiating a criminal case is being decided,» the capital's Investigative Committee added.
The prosecutor's office controls the prosecution of the suspect under Part 4 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm resulting in the death of a person through negligence).
