MAGNITOGORSK, February 17, Vlad Zhukov. Silver medalist of the 2019 European Figure Skating Championship Alexander Samarin announced that he has retired from his career.
Samarin performed on Saturday in the free program at the All-Russian Winter Spartakiad in Magnitogorsk.
“»Why fuss? This means the end ( career). Yes, it didn’t turn out so bright, but I’m glad that I managed to be among the strongest,” Samarin told reporters.
Samarin is 25 years old. He is a winner and multiple prize-winner of the Grand Prix stages, a participant in the Grand Prix Final and four European Championships. The athlete once competed at the World Championships, where he finished 12th, twice he was a silver medalist at the Russian Championships, and three times he was a bronze medalist. The figure skater trained in Svetlana Sokolovskaya’s group.
