MOSCOW, Feb. 16 Ukraine will suffer defeat if the United States does not will continue supplying arms to Kiev, writes the former commander-in-chief of NATO forces in Europe, retired American admiral James Stavridis in an article for Bloomberg.
“»Now is a dangerous moment. <…> If America abandons him (Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky. — Note . ed.), his country is doomed,” the expert is sure.
According to Stavridis, Kiev also needs to carry out additional mobilization, although it is perceived very painfully by society. Zelensky is still hesitant, but he will be forced to make this difficult decision in order to try to influence the situation in the combat zone, the admiral believes.
Western media are increasingly writing that Washington and Brussels have begun to get tired of the Ukrainian conflict, and support for the Zelensky regime is weakening. According to NBC, American and European officials are already discussing with Kiev the possible consequences of peace negotiations with Russia, including the general outlines of what Ukraine may have to give up in order to reach an agreement.
Moscow has repeatedly emphasized that Western military assistance to Kyiv does not change anything on the battlefield and only prolongs the conflict. As Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted, any cargo that contains weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine will become a legitimate target of the Aerospace Forces.
