VOLGOGRAD, February 20 The soil over an area of more than 800 square meters was contaminated as a result of depressurization of an oil pipeline in the Volgograd region, the press service of the Nizhne-Volzhsky interregional department of Rosprirodnadzor reported.
«»The Nizhne-Volzhsky interregional department of Rosprirodnadzor received an operational message from LLC «RITEK» TPP «Volgogradneftegaz» regarding the depressurization of the existing oil pipeline TsDNG No. 3 «Kotovsky», the field pipeline system of the Antipovsko-Balykleyskoye field of the Kamyshinsky district of the Volgograd region» , — the message says.
According to the department, experts have established that the area of soil contamination with petroleum products amounted to more than 800 square meters. Soil samples were taken for analysis; based on the results of the examination, “a decision will be made to apply administrative sanctions to those responsible.”
