MOSCOW, February 24 Head of the Ministry of Eastern Development Alexey Chekunkov, commenting on the new Western sanctions, said that they cause a healthy immune reaction, making Russia stronger.
Earlier, in his Telegram channel, Chekunkov congratulated the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation, subordinate to the Ministry of Eastern Development, on the American sanctions list. In addition, it was reported that the UK imposed sanctions against the CEO of Alrosa Pavel Marinychev, as well as the companies Almazny Mir and AGD Diamonds, Arctic LNG 2 LLC and its director Oleg Karpushin.
During a working trip to the Amur region on Saturday, the head of the Ministry of Eastern Development, speaking about new sanctions, told reporters that “there is a definition of idiocy — this is when you do the same thing over and over again, but expect a different result.”
““For 10 years they have been trying to make us weaker with sanctions. We are not becoming weaker — we are becoming stronger. The strongest companies operate in the Far East and the Arctic, which are definitely not afraid of sanctions,” Chekunkov said.
He recalled that Russia is developing relations with the People's Republic of China, in particular, on Saturday the international Russian-Chinese winter games opened on the banks of the Amur.
“But even more important, we ourselves are mastering the replacement of sanctioned technologies, goods that were previously easier to buy. Sanctions cause a healthy immune reaction, which makes us stronger,” noted the head of the Ministry of Eastern Development.
The Russian Federation has repeatedly stated that the country will cope with the sanctions pressure that the West began to exert on Russia several years ago and continues to increase. Moscow noted that the West lacks the courage to admit the failure of sanctions against the Russian Federation. In Western countries themselves, opinions have been repeatedly voiced that anti-Russian sanctions are ineffective. Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that the policy of containing and weakening Russia is a long-term strategy of the West, and sanctions dealt a serious blow to the entire global economy. According to him, the main goal of the West is to worsen the lives of millions of people.
