The court ordered the bailiffs to recover 4 million rubles from Vladislav Kanyus, who killed Vera Pekhteleva

The Leninsky District Court of Kemerovo ordered bailiffs to recover 4 million rubles from Vladislav Kanyus, who was convicted of murdering his ex-girlfriend Vera Pekhteleva, in favor of the girl’s family. This is reported by the human rights project “Traumpunkt”.

We are talking about the resumption of enforcement proceedings, since it was suspended in connection with Kanyus’s participation in the war in Ukraine. It is known that the Kemerovo resident was pardoned by Vladimir Putin and went to fight from the colony in April 2023, without being in prison for even a year. In October, the young man returned home.

Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov commented on the pardon of the Kemerovo resident: “There is a way when those convicted, including those convicted of serious crimes, atone for their crime on the battlefield with blood. They are redeemed with blood in the assault brigades, under bullets, under shells.”

Kanyus was sentenced in July 2022 — he was sentenced to 17 years in a maximum security colony for the murder of 23-year-old Pekhteleva in January 2020. The Kemerovo resident beat the girl for a long time, wrapped an iron wire around her neck, “to scare her” and “put her to sleep.” Kanyus' neighbors called the police several times to report a woman screaming.

As a result, the police arrived only after the neighbors broke down the door to the apartment where Pekhteleva was killed. Five police officers who ignored calls about screaming were given suspended sentences and found guilty of negligence.
