The Prikubansky District Court of Krasnodar arrested local resident Sergei Albov for two days under the protocol of “demonstration of symbols of an extremist organization” because of posting leaflets with the inscription “Navalny” and a portrait of the politician, lawyer Alexey Avanesyan told Mediazona.
According to , On February 19, Albov pasted on Agrokhimicheskaya Street “a leaflet with the image of the leader of the organizations: “FBK”, “FZPG”, “Navalny’s Headquarters” — Navalny A.A., with the inscription “Navalny”, thereby carrying out public actions aimed at promoting and publicly demonstrating the symbols of these organizations,” which are declared “extremist” in Russia.
SotaVision was the first to report the case. Albov and his wife Alina told the publication that on the evening of January 21 they went out to the store, at the exit of which they were stopped by a man in plain clothes who introduced himself as a criminal investigation officer. The couple was detained and taken to the police department, where they “were shown photos and videos of Sergei putting up a leaflet, and Alina standing nearby.”
The police did not allow Avanesyan to see the detainees, claiming that the couple refused the help of a lawyer. According to Albov, the security forces asked him how much money he received for posting leaflets, to which he replied that “he is not paid for grief.”

In court, Albov confirmed that he had posted leaflets with Navalny's image, but said that his goal was not to display «symbols of organizations recognized as extremist.» He found the portrait of the politician on the Internet, ordered it and printed it at a printing house.
“He explained his actions by saying that he wanted to honor the memory of Navalny A.A., he never took part in the activities of the above organizations, and did not provide financial or other assistance,” the court ruling says.
Initially, a report was also drawn up against Alina Albova for “demonstration of symbols of an extremist organization” (Part 1 of Article 20.3 of the Administrative Code), but the case against her was dropped due to the lack of corpus delicti. In court, the girl explained that she stood next to her upset husband and “teared off old stickers on the bulletin board.”
“If the decision “guilty” is made, then this will be a precedent — it will mean that Alexei Navalny cannot even be buried under his name and with his photograph because this will be a violation of 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses,” quotes Avanesyan SotaVision.
Earlier in Ulyanovsk, a report was drawn up against Vitaly Akhmerov because of the words “Alexey Navalny” in his telegram channel “Simbirsk Shugozhor”: the post said that the city administration did not allow a picket in memory of the politician in the Ekran park » According to the police, Akhmerov disseminated information about an “extremist” organization without indicating that its activities were prohibited.
