The British cargo ship Rubymar sank in the Red Sea. This was reported by the Yemeni state agency SABA, citing an internationally recognized statement by the Yemeni government.
It was previously reported that the Houthi rebels operating in Yemen attacked the cargo ship with missiles on February 19.
According to a crisis group monitoring the situation, the ship sank the night before. At the same time, a strong increase in wind was recorded in the area where the ship was located.
The ship was attacked by the Houthis while sailing from the UAE to Bulgaria under the flag of Belize. After this, the crew was evacuated, and the damaged ship was going to be towed to the port of Jeddah with the help of US Navy ships.
