Putin and Tokayev discussed projects in trade, transport and energy

MOSCOW, March 2 President Vladimir Putin discussed with the leader of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the implementation of joint projects in the trade, economic, transport, logistics and energy fields, the Kremlin press service reported.

"The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kasym -Zhomart Tokayev. In continuation of the exchange of views held during the meeting on February 21 in Kazan, some current issues on the bilateral agenda were discussed with an emphasis on the implementation of joint projects in the trade, economic, transport, logistics and energy fields,” the message clarified.

Tokayev also particularly noted the “substantive, programmatic nature of the Russian President’s message to the Federal Assembly.”

In addition, the presidents confirmed their mutual commitment to comprehensively strengthening relations of alliance and strategic partnership between Moscow and Astana.< br>The last time the two leaders communicated was during a personal meeting in Kazan at the opening ceremony of the international multi-sport tournament “Games of the Future” on February 21. Then Putin emphasized that relations between Russia and Kazakhstan are developing successfully. In turn, Tokayev pointed out that Russia is achieving impressive results under the leadership of Vladimir Putin. He also noted the successes of the Russian economy, which, as the Kazakh leader emphasized, naturally has a positive effect on cooperation between Astana and Moscow.
