Roskomnadzor (RKN) blocked the website of the “Noon against Putin” action, which was proposed to be held during the presidential elections by former deputy of the St. Petersburg legislative assembly Maxim Reznik. The Roskomsvoboda project drew attention to this.
Reznik suggested that everyone who opposes Vladimir Putin’s fifth term come to the polling stations on March 17 at the same time, at noon, to vote for any candidate except Putin, or spoil the ballot.
St. Petersburg politician Sergei Gulyaev said that Roskomnadzor also demanded that his video about “Afternoon Tea against Putin” be removed from YouTube. The notification he received from the hosting company mentions that the blocking was required by the Prosecutor General's Office. The video is still available.
The “Noon against Putin” campaign was supported by Alexey Navalny during his lifetime. “The most important thing is that this will be a real all-Russian protest that will take place not just in every city, but in every district of every city,” the politician wrote in a letter that his associates published on February 1.
