MOSCOW, March 7 The cinematographer who shot the TV series “Liquidation” and “Quiet Don”, Mikhail Suslov, died at 84, the Union of Cinematographers of Russia announced on the Telegram channel.
“The Guild of Cinematographers announced that Mikhail Petrovich Suslov has died,” the text says.
Suslov was born on March 23, 1939. In 1962 he graduated from the camera department of VGIK (Leonid Kosmatov’s workshop), worked for three years at Moscow television, where the creative association “Ekran” began to be created, then moved to the Mosfilm film studio. Since 1976, the cameraman lived in the United States and worked in the action and crime drama genres in Hollywood. Since the late 1990s, he has fruitfully collaborated with director Sergei Ursulyak, producing the film “The Long Farewell” and the film series “Poirot’s Failure,” “Liquidation,” “Isaev,” “Life and Fate,” as well as “Quiet Don.”
