DOHA, March 12 The US and UK suffered At least 15 airstrikes on the territory of Yemen controlled by the Shiite Ansar Allah movement (Houthis) were reported by the Yemeni TV channel Al-Masirah.

The Royal Navy's UK Maritime Trade Operations Office (UKMTO) said on Monday it had received information of an attack on a ship 71 nautical miles southwest of the Yemeni port of Salif.
The department later reported that it had received information from the captain about an explosion not far from the ship. The ship and crew are safe and coalition forces are investigating the incident.
In turn, the British maritime security company Ambrey said it was aware of a missile-related incident west of the Yemeni port of Hodeidah, Reuters reports. This port is located several tens of kilometers from Salif.
The ruling Ansar Allah (Houthi) movement in northern Yemen, which controls most of Yemen's Red Sea coast, previously warned of its intention to attack any ships associated with Israel, calling on other countries to recall their crews from them and not to approach to them in the sea. A number of shipping companies have decided to suspend transportation through the Red Sea.
The Houthis have said their actions in the Red Sea are aimed at helping Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, and they have argued that they are not interfering with freedom of navigation in the region. Arab and Muslim countries have repeatedly warned the United States that unconditional support for Israel's actions in the Gaza Strip will lead to the spread of the conflict throughout the region.
