BELGOROD, March 12 A member of the territorial self-defense died after Ukrainian shelling of the Belgorod region on Tuesday, another 10 residents were injured, said the governor of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov in the Telegram channel.
“There is no enemy in the settlements of the Belgorod region. Ten civilians were injured, six of them are in hospitals. All necessary medical care is being provided to them. Today a member of our territorial self-defense died. This is one of those people we are proud of,” he wrote Gladkov.
He clarified that this is the second member of the military defense to die in two years.
The governor noted that at present it is not possible to carry out a door-to-door survey in full. “This work continues… In many ways, we have already been able to develop a skill that will allow us to restore everything in the near future,” added Gladkov.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense reported that on Tuesday eight drones were intercepted and destroyed by air defense systems over the territory of the Belgorod region. Also, according to the department, at about 7.30, air defense systems destroyed 8 Vampire MLRS rockets and one Tochka-U missile from the TRC over the region. According to the head of the region, on the same day three people were wounded during Ukrainian shelling of the city of Shebekino and two people were injured during an attack on the Belgorod region. A security guard at an agricultural enterprise was wounded during Ukrainian shelling of the Grayvoronsky district. According to the mayor of Belgorod Valentin Demidov, during the drone attack on the city hall building, 4 employees of the administration were injured, one of them is in serious condition.
On the morning of March 12, according to the Ministry of Defense, units of the Russian Armed Forces together with the border service of the FSB of Russia disrupted an attempt by the Kiev regime to make a breakthrough into the Russian border territory in the Belgorod and Kursk regions. Ukrainian terrorists attempted an invasion around 3 a.m. with the support of tanks and armored fighting vehicles. Up to 60 militants were destroyed.
