Irina Tolmacheva, a teacher from Novosibirsk, convicted in the case of military “fakes”, was released from punishment “due to illness”

The Oktyabrsky District Court of Novosibirsk, “due to illness,” released teacher-psychologist Irina Tolmacheva from punishment in the case of military “fakes” (Part 1 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code). She herself announced this on her Instagram.

A criminal case against Tolmacheva was opened in March 2022. The reason was a comment from a teacher under a post on Instagram of Novosibirsk politician Sergei Boyko. According to the Siberian woman, it said that the Ministry of Defense does not recognize all the deaths of Russian military personnel in Ukraine.

At the same time, the comment that led to the case was written on March 3, 2022 — the day before the law on “fake news” about the army came into force. The prosecutor's office insisted that the teacher wrote it on March 4, when the law came into force. In the spring of 2022, the appointed lawyer convinced the girl to sign a confession and confess. After interrogation, Tolmacheva was released on her own recognizance.

In July 2023, the teacher was sentenced to nine months of correctional labor. According to the court decision, 10% of the Siberian woman’s salary was to be withheld in favor of the state. Since the article about “fakes” about the army refers to “crimes against public safety,” after the verdict comes into force, Tolmacheva cannot engage in teaching activities.

On her social networks, the Siberian woman publishes posts about neuralgia, from which she has been suffering for several years now years.
