Roskomnadzor has stopped updating the open register of blocked sites. According to the ZaTelecom project, the latest changes to the database were made on March 4.
As ZaTelecom author Mikhail Klimarev writes, this is due to the widespread introduction of the TSPU— devices that Roskomnadzor installs at Internet providers within the framework of the “sovereign Internet” law in order to be able to control user traffic: study using DPI, slow down and even completely block sites.
In October 2023, the head of Roskomnadzor Andrei Lipov reported that TSPU had been introduced “on 100%” of Russian territory. And if earlier providers had to download the regulator’s databases and block sites on their servers on their own, now, as ZaTelecom writes, “in technical captivity” there is no need to update the public registry.
“Now RKN can do anything at all on its TSPU and no one will know that it is they. Moreover, they can block, “slow down”, redirect and modify any traffic,” says ZaTelecom’s post.
According to Klimarev, on March 17, because of the action «Noon against Putin», which was supported by oppositionist Alexei Navalny shortly before the murder, the authorities may block Telegram and YouTube.
“So that "Popular Politics" “I couldn’t broadcast to the whole country, and from Russia they couldn’t send videos of how garbage was once again causing chaos, and teachers with the brains of a chicken were making stuff up for crap,” believes the author of the ZaTelecom project.
A new attack on VPN may be successful. It will be increasingly difficult to bypass blockings, experts say
