The first protocols were drawn up against journalist Katerina Gordeeva and comedian Ruslan Bely about the absence of a “foreign agent” label.

The Tagansky District Court of Moscow registered materials of administrative cases against journalists Katerina Gordeeva and Roman Badanin, musician Andrei Makarevich and comedian Ruslan Bely. Mediazona found information about this on the website of the capital’s courts.

All of them are charged with distributing posts without the “foreign agent” label (Part 4 of Article 19.34 of the Administrative Code). Their hearings have not yet been scheduled. What became the reason for drawing up protocols in each case is unknown.

In addition, it is known that another protocol has been drawn up on the same article against journalist and author of the podcast “Hello, you are a foreign agent” Sonya Groysman. The project’s telegram channel says that, most likely, the reason for the protocol was the failure to mention the status of a “foreign agent” in the latest episode of the podcast dedicated to Alexei Navalny.

For Gordeeva and Bely, these are the first protocols after they were declared “foreign agents.” The journalist was included in the Ministry of Justice register in September 2022, and the comedian a year later. Groysman also clarifies that this is her first protocol under the article on “foreign agents”; it was added to the register in the summer of 2021.

In December 2021, Roman Badanin was fined 10 thousand rubles for not being labeled as a “foreign agent” on social networks. In November 2023, he was fined 30 thousand rubles for failure to provide a report on the activities of a “foreign agent.” The journalist was included in the Ministry of Justice register in the summer of 2021.

Andrei Makarevich was included in the register of “foreign agents” at the beginning of September 2022. The Ministry of Justice did not find foreign funding from him and included him in the list only for interviews with foreign journalists and media – “foreign agents.” In August last year, the musician was fined 35 thousand rubles due to the absence of the “foreign agent” marking in the telegram.
