The Tagansky District Court of Moscow received materials from an administrative case against the entertainment channel Vostok TV. Mediazona found information about this in the files of the capital’s courts.
The TV channel drew up a protocol on the “demonstration” of LGBT relationships with incorrect age markings (Part 2 of Article 6.21.2 of the Administrative Code). What exactly was the reason for drawing up the protocol is unknown. A hearing in the case has not yet been scheduled.
Vostok TV positions itself as a channel with “the latest hits of oriental music.” According to information on the official website, it is watched in Russia, Turkey, the CIS and Baltic countries.
Under the protocol on “demonstration” of LGBT relationships, legal entities can be fined in the amount of 1 to 4 million rubles. In January 2024 and September 2023, the same Tagansky District Court of Moscow twice fined the music channel Clubbing TV the minimum amount allowed under this article. A similar decision was made in December in an administrative case against the Tochka TV channel.
