MOSCOW, March 15 Two-time Olympic champion Russian biathlete Olga Zaitseva during a visit to the Public Headquarters for monitoring the Russian presidential elections in Moscow, she spoke about her feelings from the support of fans at the 2014 Games in Sochi, when she felt like the whole country was supporting her.
“»I would like to give an example when there were the Olympic Games in Sochi, and we had a lift — a corridor, and fans stood on both sides. There was enormous support, especially (because) these Olympic Games were held here, when support was felt the whole country,» she said.
The biathlete shared that the sound of the fans' rattles made her feel as if she were standing next to a large speaker with vibration coming from it. “You run along this corridor — and all this vibration passes through you, I get goosebumps,” admitted Zaitseva, answering the question whether the sound of rattles bothers athletes.
