MOSCOW, March 15. Microsoft will close access to management and design software for Russian companies, including cloud services, from March 20, according to the corporation’s letter to clients, which is available.
“The European Union recently introduced new economic sanctions that, effective March 20, 2024, prohibit Microsoft from supplying certain management or design software (including cloud solutions) to organizations registered in Russia,” the document says.
As Softline said, Amazon sent a similar letter. A Russian company warns of possible functional limitations in the operation of cloud products and services from Microsoft, Amazon and Google. Thus, the unified scalable platform for self-service and enterprise business analytics, Power BI, and the customer relationship management system Dynamics CRM may stop working.
The restrictions are being introduced as part of the 12th package of sanctions, which the European Union adopted on December 18. It limits the supply of software for business intelligence (BI), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and other products to Russia.
In March 2022, Microsoft announced that it was leaving the Russian market due to events in Ukraine. In particular, it suspended sales and services, and also laid off 400 Russian employees. At the same time, the corporation emphasized that it would continue to fulfill its obligations to customers in Russia.
