Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that Vladimir Putin is deeply saddened by the reports received about the death of People's Artist of the RSFSR Alexander Shirvindt.
According to head of the Kremlin press service, the president will send an official telegram of condolences to the family and friends of the president of the Satire Theater.
Earlier, the artistic director of the Satire Theater Sergei Gazarov announced the death of Alexander Shirvindt in one of the Moscow hospitals. The date of farewell and funeral will be announced later.
Gazarov did not name the reasons for the death of 89-year-old Shirvindt, but presumably it was due to heart problems. Back in 2016, Shirvindt underwent coronary angiography at the Bakulev Cardiology Center, and in 2019 he underwent heart surgery.
At the same time, as MK learned, Shirvindt was now planning to be discharged from the hospital , the son said that his father was on the mend.
