SIMFEROPOL, March 17Ukrainian troops shelled the territory of a kindergarten in the village of Brilyovka, Kherson region, the explosion of a shell broke the windows and cut the facades, there were no casualties, the governor said Vladimir Saldo in his Telegram channel.
«Ukrainian terrorists continue to shell peaceful settlements in the Kherson region. At about 2 p.m., enemy ammunition arrived on the territory of a kindergarten in the village of Brilyovka, Aleshkinsky municipal district,» wrote Saldo. 
According to him, the explosion occurred between the buildings of the kindergarten and the village council.
“Whichever of them was the target of the militants of the Kyiv regime is a disgusting terrorist act. Fortunately, there were no children on the site. The windows of the buildings were broken by shrapnel and the facades were cut,” the governor emphasized.
According to him, emergency services are working at the scene.
Kherson region is a region of Russia, located in the lower reaches of the Dnieper, washed by the Azov and Black Seas. The region became a subject of the Russian Federation following a referendum in September 2022. The Ukrainian side does not recognize its legitimacy and continues to shell the territory. Currently, 75% of the Kherson region is under Russian control, and the part on the right bank of the Dnieper, including the city of Kherson, is held by Ukrainian troops.
