The CSKA veteran appreciated Spartak’s game without Promes

MOSCOW, March 16, Alena Sulizova. Absence of Spartak striker “Quincy Promesa had a positive effect on the team play of the “red-whites,” said ex-footballer of the USSR national team Vladimir Ponomarev.
The return match of the 1/4 finals of the Russian Cup of the RPL between Spartak and Orenburg took place on Thursday at the Red-White stadium in Tushino and ended with a score of 3:1 in favor of the hosts. Thanks to this victory, Spartak advanced to the semi-finals of the RPL path.
“”Spartak had a team game without Promes, and they were always hoping for him to score a goal. Everything is absolutely natural. Let him sit there. They had a good game without Quincy. Zinkovsky was good, of course. If he is not lazy and shows off, then he will show good qualities, but they must be supported,” Ponomarev said.
Dubai police detained Promes on February 29 while passing through border control at Al Maktoum International Airport, the player was taken to the police station. The 32-year-old footballer was detained in the UAE for a local offense (road accident). Promes was later arrested at the request of Dutch prosecutors, who are demanding his extradition. According to media reports, the attacker is being held at a police station near Dubai airport.
Previously in the Netherlands, Promes was sentenced to six years in prison for drug smuggling and one and a half years for aggravated assault on his cousin. The Amsterdam prosecutor's office said that Promes was put on the international wanted list. The verdict was appealed by the defense.
