KAZAN, March 18 A five-month-old baby was admitted to intensive care as a result of snow falling from the roof of a building in Almetyevsk, a criminal case was opened under two articles, reports the investigative department of the RF IC in Tatarstan on Monday.
“In the city of Almetyevsk, as a result of snow falling from the canopy of a balcony on the 10th floor of a residential building on Aminova Street, a five-month-old child was injured, whom his mother brought in a stroller to the clinic located on the first floor. The boy was hospitalized with a closed craniocerebral injury to the hospital's intensive care unit,” the release said.

In addition, a 33-year-old man passing by was injured. Based on this fact, a criminal case was initiated under the articles “Causing grievous harm to health” and “Providing services that do not meet safety requirements.”

The suspect has already been detained: this is a representative of the contractor responsible for snow removal. The investigation petitioned the court to place him in a pre-trial detention center.
