The head of a group of tourists caught in an avalanche was arrested in Kamchatka
The man who led a group of 11 tourists injured in an avalanche in Kamchatka was taken into custody. According to the regional prosecutor's office, he has been charged in a criminal case.
The investigation believes that the detainee committed a crime under Part 3 of Art. 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (provision of services leading to the careless death of a group of people).
«A 32-year-old defendant in a criminal case was chosen as a preventive measure in the form of detention, taking into account the position of the prosecutor,» the Kamchatka Territory prosecutor's office said .
Recall that on March 18, a group of 11 tourists led by a 32-year-old man went on a hike, as a result of which they were buried in an avalanche. As a result of the incident, a 19-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman died.
Governor of the Kamchatka Territory Vladimir Solodov noted that the tourists went hiking in unfavorable weather conditions and did not take the necessary equipment with them.
