The Moscow City Court reduced the period of administrative arrest for the observer from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, anesthesiologist Vera Indienko, from 12 to five days. A listener in the courtroom reported this to Mediazona.
After the trial, Indienko will be taken to a special detention center for paperwork, after which he should be released.
The observer was detained at the station on March 16. Indienko’s acquaintances emphasized that she was raising her five-year-old daughter alone—in such cases, the Code of Administrative Offenses prohibits arresting mothers.
The “Agency,” with reference to acquaintances of the Muscovite, wrote that an unknown person beat Indienko at the police department. “They beat Vera on the head and put a bag over her head. But due to the fact that, thank God, the bag was quite thin, she tore it. They laughed, they mocked, they laughed, they were rude, they pushed. But there are no obvious signs of beatings. They know how to beat,” an acquaintance of the girl, who came to the Koptevsky District Court hearing on her administrative case, told the publication.
As a result, the court found Indienko guilty of demonstrating extremist symbols (Part 1 of Article 20.3 of the Administrative Code).

The reason for the arrest was a photo of Indienko on VKontakte, in which she is dressed in a white, blue and white jacket. The court ruling states that these colors are associated with flag of the Legion «Freedom of Russia». Indienko herself said that colors don’t mean anything; she made the jacket about three years ago.
The decision contains a report from a patrolman, according to whom the Muscovite was not on the list of observers from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, and in “Indienko’s correspondence there were words of a radical nature calling for committing arson and disruption of the election process.”
The “Agency” also reported that security forces took testimony from the brother of the observer. According to the publication, he told the police that the Muscovite holds opposition views and attended the funeral of politician Alexei Navalny.
