The UN Counter-Terrorism Office is ready to join the investigation of the terrorist attack in Krasnogorsk near Moscow.
As Vladimir Voronkov, Deputy Secretary General of the UN, head of the counter-terrorism department of the world organization, told TASS, in order to assist in the investigation of the emergency in Crocus City Hall, the organization will need to receive appropriate instructions from the participating countries.
The head of the department added that international cooperation is the most important factor in preventing the threat of terrorism. Earlier, the coordinator for strategic communications at the US National Security Council, John Kirby, said that the American authorities would not provide security assistance to Russia in connection with the tragedy.
The terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall took place on March 22. More than a hundred people died — the number is still being determined. About 200 people were injured.
