The Butyrsky District Court of Moscow sent local resident S.A. Mironov to a pre-trial detention center, accused of murdering his girlfriend who lived with him (Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code). The press service of the court reported this to Mediazona.
Mironov’s arrest in a criminal case was previously reported by the Moscow Department of the Investigative Committee; the accused admitted guilt. The Moskovsky Komsomolets publication wrote that the person involved in the case was a Wagner PMC mercenary who returned from the war in Ukraine and was repeatedly convicted. According to the telegram channel «VChK-OGPU», his name is Sergei Mironov.
According to the Investigative Committee, no later than March 24, 51-year-old Mironov beat his 42-year-old girlfriend Svetlana during a quarrel, after which he stabbed her 16 times. The Muscovite died on the spot from her injuries. “Moskovsky Komsomolets” reported that the “Wagnerite” also cut off the woman’s ear; after the murder, he himself called the police and told about what happened. According to the VChK-OGPU telegram channel, her 15-year-old daughter was in the apartment during the attack on Svetlana.
According to Moskovsky Komsomolets, Mironov, among other things, was tried for causing grievous bodily harm resulting in death (Part 4 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code). In October 2022, as part of the Wagner PMC, he went to war in Ukraine, and after returning to Moscow he was again brought to criminal charges — in the case of intentional damage to property (Article 167 of the Criminal Code).
According to information on the Butyrsky Court website, in May 2018 Mironov was sentenced to six years in prison under Article 111 of the Criminal Code, but in 2019 this decision was overturned. The text of the verdict states that before this, the Muscovite was tried twice in cases of damage to property (167 Criminal Code) and threat of murder (119 Criminal Code). A case of causing grievous bodily harm was opened due to the fact that a drunken “Wagnerite” beat his neighbor M.V. Shmelev during a quarrel, after which he died.
As follows from the case materials, on August 20, 2017, Mironov and his neighbor drank vodka, after which Shmelev went to the toilet. Mironov followed him and saw that he was peeing in the sink, after which he began to beat him; 11 days later the victim died in the hospital from his injuries. At the trial, the “Wagnerite” admitted guilt in the case and explained that he had previously served time in prison, because of which “he developed certain moral principles, based on which the actions of M.V. were unacceptable for him.”
In February 2024, Mironov was again found guilty of damaging property (167 Criminal Code); what specific punishment he was given is unknown. On March 11, the decision was appealed.
