NIZHNY NOVGOROD, March 27 The results of industry in the Nizhny Novgorod region in 2023 and plans for 2024 were discussed at a large-scale specialized meeting of the regional Ministry of Industry, reports the press service of the regional government.
As the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin, noted, the responsible position of Nizhny Novgorod industrialists allowed them to quickly adapt to new working conditions, prevent the economy from falling, and at the same time reach the level of growth of key development indicators.
“The volume of shipped industrial products in 2023 exceeded 2 trillion rubles, which is 20 percent more than in 2022. The production index throughout the year showed positive dynamics and higher rates than the average in Russia. The industrial production index amounted to 110.6 percent «, the press service quotes Nikitin as saying.
Separately, the head of the region noted the task of modernizing the personnel training system for industry, in particular, the use of tools similar to the “Professionality” program. He called on industrialists to participate in solving this problem — to join the work on modernizing colleges and technical schools.
“We are ready to support the “Professionality” model as the right and necessary direction at the expense of exclusively regional funds. That is, if we do not receive federal support, we are ready to implement a program for the development of clusters here in the region. Competition for personnel is already beginning between enterprises, and our «The goal is for every single organization of special vocational education in the region to be included in the development program. If there is no interest in their activities from industrial partners, we will need to repurpose them and focus them on other industries,» Nikitin said.
The governor also said that in order to improve the personnel situation, it is planned to attract high-quality foreign specialists who share traditional Russian values.
“We are actively developing the direction of attracting specialists from abroad who, for ideological reasons, want to move to Russia, including from unfriendly countries. This is in line with the policy outlined by the country’s President Vladimir Putin. In the Nizhny Novgorod region, 40 resumes of highly qualified specialists – technicians, designers, specialists in working with computer-controlled machines,” said the head of the region.
This year, during the final meeting, the award “Honorary Industrialist” of the Nizhny Novgorod Region was presented for the first time. The badge of honor will be awarded annually for a significant contribution to the development of industry in the region, including the implementation of projects for the creation of new production facilities and the technical re-equipment of existing ones, for the development and implementation of innovative types of products. The first recipients of the award were the heads of the largest enterprises in the region.
Minister of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Maxim Cherkasov noted that in 2023, enterprises showed their readiness for changes — increasing production volumes, launching completely new products, and developing innovative projects. He added that one of the tasks that the ministry now faces is promoting the possibility of providing federal support measures to business. During 2023, Nizhny Novgorod enterprises received more than 33 billion rubles from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, which is a record amount. Funds were raised under 27 programs.
