MOSCOW, March 27 Russian President Vladimir Putin and President of the Republic of the Congo Denis Sassou Nguesso, during a telephone conversation, confirmed their commitment to active cooperation in the political, trade, economic, and humanitarian spheres, the Kremlin press service reports.
«Taking into account the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and the Republic of Congo confirmed their mutual commitment to further active bilateral cooperation in political, trade, economic, humanitarian and other areas,” the message says.
In addition, the leaders agreed to continue contacts.
It is noted that the conversation took place at the initiative of the Congolese side.
“The President of the Republic of the Congo expressed deep condolences and feelings of solidarity with the Russian Federation in connection with the barbaric terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall,” the message says.
«The progress in implementing the agreements reached following the meeting of the two presidents at the Russia-Africa summit in July last year was discussed. Denis Sassou Nguesso praised, in particular, the effective work of Russian epidemiologists to eliminate the outbreak of infectious diseases in the Republic of Congo,” the message says.
