MOSCOW, March 29 The Kodarsky tunnel on the BAM is planned to be built by the end of 2030, the bridge over the Amur, the second Severomuysky and Kuznetsovsky tunnels — by the end of 2032 , Russian Railways said in a statement.
Russian Railways announced earlier on Friday that they were starting to implement the third stage of development of the Eastern training ground. The company and the Bamtonnelstroy-Most Group of Companies entered into general contract agreements for the construction of the second Severomuysky, second Kodarsky and second Kuznetsovsky tunnels on the BAM, as well as a new railway bridge across the Amur River in Komsomolsk-on-Amur.
«The construction of the Kodarsky tunnel is planned to be completed by the end of 2030, the construction of the second Severomuysky and Kuznetsovsky tunnels, as well as a bridge across the Amur River — by the end of 2032,» says a statement from Russian Railways. The preliminary cost of designing and creating these facilities is 498.8 billion rubles.
The commissioning of new artificial structures in conjunction with other infrastructure development measures, including the construction of continuous second tracks, stations and sidings, will increase the carrying capacity of the BAM and Trans-Siberian Railway to 270 million tons based on the results of 2032.
The cost of the entire third stage of development of the Eastern range is tentatively estimated at 3.7 trillion rubles, taking into account the increase in carrying capacity to 270 million tons, reported Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Valentin Ivanov.
