The court in Pskov refused to consider the protocol on “discrediting” the army, drawn up against writer Mikhail Zygar

The Pskov City Court refused to consider the protocol on “discrediting” the army (Part 1 of Article 20.3.3 of the Administrative Code), drawn up against the writer Mikhail Zygar. Mediazona found information about this on the court’s website.

The materials of Zygar’s case were received by the court on March 25. What exactly was the reason for drawing up the protocol is unknown.

In mid-March, the authors of the SHOT telegram channel wrote without specifying the source that a criminal case had been opened against the writer for “discrediting” the army (Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code). The reason for it, allegedly, was Zygar’s post on Instagram about the murders and rapes of civilians in the Ukrainian Bucha by Russian soldiers.

The writer condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022. He published an appeal on his Facebook demanding an end to the war, which was joined by writers Boris Akunin, Dmitry Bykov, Dmitry Glukhovsky, Vladimir Sorokin, playwright Ivan Vyrypaev, Nobel Prize laureate Dmitry Muratov, journalist Leonid Parfenov, actress Chulpan Khamatova and other famous people.< /p>
