Judge Elena Lenskaya of the Basmanny District Court of Moscow sent SOTAvision journalist Antonina Favorskaya to a pre-trial detention center in the case of participation in FBK, a Mediazona correspondent reports from the courtroom.
The press service of the Moscow courts wrote that Favorskaya is accused in “collecting material, producing, and editing videos and publications for FBK.” When the journalist was taken out of the courtroom, she managed to shout: “They are trying me for an article about how the Federal Penitentiary Service tortured Alexei Navalny!”
The court considered the petition for the arrest of the journalist behind closed doors. Favorskaya herself objected to closing the trial: “I am completely against a closed trial. The press needs to know what is happening here, what I am accused of.”
