DUSHANBE, March 30, Lidiya Isamova. Tajikistan after the terrorist attack in «Crocus City Hall» near Moscow has intensified outreach work with migrant workers to prevent their involvement in extremist communities, said Deputy Minister of Labor, Migration and Employment of the Republic Shakhnoza Nodiri.
«The authorities of Tajikistan have strengthened explanatory and preventive work with migrant workers after the terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall on March 22, to prevent their involvement in extremist communities in various countries where our migrants are, especially in Russia, as well as in the country itself «, — she said.
The Deputy Minister noted that such work has always been carried out, but was intensified after the terrorist attack in the Moscow region. “Especially now, when extremists are intensively using various social networks to recruit migrant workers,” Nodiri said.
According to her, complaints about prejudice and insults towards legally working migrant workers are also recorded. The Deputy Minister emphasized that in the current situation it is very important to fight not against migrants, but against criminals.
Currently, in Tajikistan, the number of migrants wishing to travel to Russia has decreased: as several ticket offices in the city of Dushanbe reported, their sales of air tickets to Russian cities have decreased. “On average, we now sell up to 30 tickets (per day – ed.) less than before March 22, tickets are being remade for other dates and tickets are non-refundable,” said one of the agency’s interlocutors.
Shooting and fire occurred on the evening of March 22 before a concert at Crocus City Hall in Krasnogorsk near Moscow. A correspondent who witnessed the incident reported that several men in camouflage and without masks burst into the hall, they shot people point-blank and threw incendiary bombs.
According to the latest data from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, 143 people died. Later, Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko announced that another patient who received severe gunshot wounds at Crocus died. The twenty-fourth of March was declared a day of national mourning.
The four perpetrators of the terrorist attack were detained on March 23 in the Bryansk region. Russian President Vladimir Putin said that they tried to escape and were moving towards Ukraine, where a “window” had been prepared for them on the Ukrainian side to cross the border. The Moscow court arrested them, they are Dalerjon Mirzoev, Murodali Rachabalizoda, Faridun Shamsiddin and Muhammadsobir Fayzov, they were charged with committing a terrorist attack resulting in death as part of an organized group (clause “b” of part 3 of article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
The President noted that a total of 11 people were detained, and the security forces are working to uncover the entire support base of the terrorists. According to him, the terrorist attack was carried out by radical Islamists. FSB Director Alexander Bortnikov noted that the Islamists alone could not have prepared this terrorist attack; they were helped. He noted that primary data from the detainees confirms the Ukrainian trail; Russian intelligence services think that the United States, Britain and Ukraine are behind the terrorist attack.
Putin noted that Russia was faced not just with a carefully cynically planned terrorist attack, but with a prepared and organized mass murder of civilians. The President emphasized that all perpetrators, organizers and customers of this crime will suffer fair and inevitable punishment.
