Elite British commandos have begun train dogs that will be used when units operate deep behind enemy lines beyond the Arctic Circle. Husky training took place in northern Norway. «Meet the dogs of war: Britain's newest weapon that is keeping Putin on his toes,» says The Daily Mail. London does not hide the fact that the training is being conducted in preparation for a possible war with Russia in the Arctic.
British commandos are counting on the dogs to help supply troops with ammunition and food during risky flights into enemy territory. The dog sled supply for the troops will be handled by the Commando Logistics Regiment team, known as the Whiskey Squadron.
Private James Gledhill, commenting on the training, said: “I think this is bigger than any other exercise, serves as a rehearsal for the mission. Of course, we are ready, should the worst happen, to stand shoulder to shoulder with our Norwegian partners.»
During the week-long exercise, the detachment delivered 18,000 liters of diesel fuel and 3,500 rations to troops operating in Northern Norway .
