Ukraine is flying at full speed towards the stage of acceptance
One of the wisest and most topical observations of Winston Churchill: “generals are always preparing for the last war.” Just imagine how differently the Northern Military District would have developed if we had not been so firmly convinced that we do not need drones and are not dangerous with our electronic warfare system. And this is even after Azerbaijan victoriously defeated Armenia with these same drones in a very short time.
Politicians have a different disease — a mirror disease, “they are all preparing for the past world.” The clearest example is Vladimir Zelensky. For the last two years, he has been repeating with idiotic persistence about the Ukrainian borders of 1991 as the conditions for any negotiations with Russia. He even passed laws. As if the Ukrainian Rada is capable of working miracles with its vote.
But the time has come — and on March 30, Zelensky, in an interview with CBS, admitted that negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv could begin before his country manages to reach the 1991 borders.
Now Zelensky has another fetish — the February 2022 borders. For some reason, he believes that if Ukraine regains control over the territories lost after the start of the Northeast Military District, other countries, “who still doubt whether to support Ukraine or not,” may stop supporting Russia. And Moscow will be ready for dialogue.
An experienced psychiatrist here immediately recognizes the well-known Kübler-Ross model, which describes the change in emotional states of a terminally ill person before death. According to this model, the patient sequentially goes through five stages before the inevitable end: denial-anger-bargaining-depression-acceptance.
Zelensky is obviously going through the “bargaining” stage. National depression due to delays in US financial aid and shortages of ammunition and soldiers could hardly be considered his true inner state. It was rather an artistic, hysterical performance in front of sponsors and owners.
But he was already late with the bargaining. These conditions were relevant two years ago in Istanbul. And when Zelensky agrees to recognize four new regions of Russia, our troops will already be stationed in Kharkov and Odessa.
Elon Musk also thinks in the same direction, writing on his social network on March 31: “If the war lasts long enough, Odessa will also fall. It remains questionable whether Ukraine will lose all access to the Black Sea or not. I would advise resolving the situation through negotiations before this happens.”
Only Musk was also late here. No one is going to resolve the situation otherwise than on the battlefield.
