CNN: after Navalny's murder, hackers downloaded data on thousands of prisoners from the FSIN system

A group of anonymous hackers, after reports of the death of Alexei Navalny in IK-3 in Kharp, gained access to the FSIN system and downloaded data on hundreds of thousands of prisoners. This was reported by the American television channel CNN, which was contacted by a representative of the group.

According to CNN, the downloaded database contains approximately 800 thousand records with data of prisoners and their relatives (we are talking about phone numbers and emails) . Hackers sent CNN several screenshots — after comparing the data from them with publicly available ones, the journalists came to the conclusion that the people mentioned there are actually now serving sentences in Russian colonies.

“No facts of hacking of the FSIN databases have been recorded. The information voiced is being verified,” a TASS interlocutor at the department said today.

CNN adds that hackers also hacked the fsin-pokupka website, which carries out trade in the institutions of the Federal Penitentiary Service in 34 regions. On February 19, a photo of Alexei and Yulia Navalny appeared on the main page of the site along with a message that prices for products in the store had been reduced to one ruble. Sota wrote about this then.

Screenshots from the main page of Kaluzhskoye JSC were preserved in the web archive. At the same time, the same photo with Navalny was displayed on the company’s website on February 20, Mediazona drew attention.

In both cases, the photo was accompanied by quotes from the politician and the text: “Alexey loved Russia. He fought for a better Russia, a country without corruption and thieves. A country where people decide for themselves how to live. A country where people would not be afraid to criticize the government and rulers. A country where rulers would not lie to their citizens.”

“We, IT specialists, left today's Russia. We love our country and will return when it is free from the Putin regime. And on this path we will reach the end. <…> All products have been reduced in price to 1 ruble. Long live Russia. Long live Alexey Navalny,” the message said.

On February 19, Kaluzhskoye JSC reported a technical failure on its website, as a result of which “prices for food and basic necessities were reflected incorrectly.” The company added that orders placed on this day will be cancelled. Judging by earlier messages from the company’s page, technical work on its website is carried out regularly — several times a month.
