MOSCOW, March 25 The ceremony of presenting the special honorary award “Golden Mask”, which was supposed to take place on March 27 at the Bolshoi Theater, is postponed, the press service reported festival
““It has been decided to cancel the Golden Mask honorary awards ceremony, scheduled for March 27. When the presentation will take place will be announced later,” said a representative of the festival’s press service.
This year, honorary awards “For outstanding contribution to the development of theatrical art” and “For support of theatrical art” will be awarded to eleven theater workers and those who help the theater develop.
Among the laureates are People's Artist of the USSR, world opera star Tamara Sinyavskaya, People's Artist of the USSR, artistic director of the Russian Ballet Theater Vyacheslav Gordeev, People's Artist of Russia Lyudmila Maksakova, People's Artist of the RSFSR, head of the Moscow Classical Ballet Theater Natalia Kasatkina (posthumously). The prize was also awarded to theater designer and set designer Igor Ivanov, theater directors and teachers Grigory Kozlov and Semyon Spivak, People's Artist of the RSFSR Galina Petrova, People's Artist of Russia Lidiya Tsukanova, People's Artist of the RSFSR Sergei Leontyev.
The Prize “For Support of Theatrical Art” will be awarded to the head of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania Sergei Menyailo for organizational support for the restoration and opening of the House-Museum of Evgeniy Vakhtangov in his homeland in Vladikavkaz.
