The BAIC X55 SUV, the size of a Toyota RAV4, arrived in Russia last fall. Like other models of the Chinese concern, it is produced locally for our market: production is established at the Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad. So now the start of sales of the new X55, 2024 model year, has been announced.
It is reported that the washer reservoir has been increased to 5 liters. In addition, the equipment of the trim levels has been revised. BAIC X55 also has a new Luxury version, it takes a place between the basic Comfort and the top-end Elite. The reforms did not affect the technology: on the Russian market, the crossover is offered with a 1.5 petrol turbo engine with a power of 177 hp. (300 Nm) and a seven-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches. Front-wheel drive only.

So, already in the base, the SUV now has heated windshield washer nozzles and heated front seats, and instead of fabric upholstery, eco-leather is used, the steering wheel is trimmed with genuine leather, and electric adjustment of the driver's seat has been added (previously there were manual ones) and a central armrest for second-row passengers. As before, the list of standard equipment of the BAIC X55 Comfort also includes LED optics, 18-inch wheels, a 10-inch virtual instrument panel and a multimedia system with a tablet of the same size, dual-zone climate control, a rear view camera, front airbags, ESP and cruise control.

The new Luxury version also includes roof rails, a panoramic sunroof, hidden power door handles (the Comfort has mechanical ones), a heated steering wheel, side airbags, interior contour lighting and a contactless power tailgate sensor. Updates for the top-end BAIC X55 Elite — heated windshield, heated steering wheel and heated rear seats. The most expensive crossover also comes with 19-inch wheels, wireless charging for a smartphone, ventilated front seats, adaptive cruise, all-round cameras, auto braking systems, lane keeping and blind spot monitoring.
The price of BAIC X55 Comfort-2024 is 2,970,000 rubles, the Luxury version will cost 3,120,000 rubles, Elite costs 3,350,000 rubles. The crossover of the previous model year, judging by the price list, is still in stock; it costs 2,950,000 — 3,250,000 rubles.
Meanwhile, the BAIC U5 Plus sedan and SUV were previously updated in Russia BAIC X35.
